The gui does not work but there is a workaround, here is how I do
I create a InsertCode plugin object in which I put
#version unofficial megapov 1.1;
I check "Export at th beginning of export"

 then I  export the files to pov with Crl+F9

And to finish, I run the .ini file of the scene in Megapov

I see... So I suppose you have both Megapov and Povray 3.5 (for texture
preview) installed?
Well thanks Marc, maybe I'll try Megapov one day or the other (though I'm
very far from mastering all standard Povray features...)

Megapov is worth the installation even if you use only one or two features
