Preview render of what's currently on day 8, at line 25 on my other
machine...this one with simpler media settings and only one spotlight.
Render time 8 h 14 m 53 s on Intel Celeron 1.5 GHz with 512 MB RAM at
lowest render priority, POV 3.5.

Speechless. Wow.

The one with the higher media settings... whats the difference?

More samples, and an array of 45 spotlights behind the figure instead of 1.

Interesting. In this image (as opposed to your dec 24 WIP) my eye confuses
the left and right arms. I guess its aided by the dark cladding and low
detail of the torso and perhaps the twist of the head. Nice transparency. No
skeletal structure? Will you go for blood in the final?

Oh my! I love it!

Not sure what else to say, but I felt it was worthy of praise.

And you call that "a few lights"?!

I was *wondering* how media with some lights could take so long! =)

Honestly though, is there really a significant visible difference between
the 45-light version and the single light version? Are you using the 45
lights to create an area light effect or what?

Yeah...area lights plus media are REALLY slow, compared to just using an
array of spot or point lights.
