I doubt whether it was ever shown in Western Germany, where I grew up...
but much later I discovered that Vangelis, the crownless king of
electronic music, composed the soundtrack, I think it was the Albedo
0.39 album!

It means "Anointed" in Greek. I.e., "Christ" wasn't Jesus' name, it was 
his title.

Thanks... you don't happen to know where I can get hold of the Cosmos LP
music on CD? Anybody still selling that somewhere?

Albedo 0.39 has the theme music. IIRC, there were 2 or 3 different 
albums the music used came from. But this is the "main theme" music.

Also, I think "Heaven and Hell" by the same composer had some cuts, too.
