Thanks!

Hate to disappoint, but it's not an effect. At least, it's not some
algorithm that can be cut and pasted into any given scene.

I built this mesh, used cylinders to trace the silhouette and hard edges,
and uv mapped the shading lines onto the shape. Then, of course, rendered
it about 50 times adjusting the colors. Flat colors are (believe it or not)
pretty challenging.

Does make a pretty good wallpaper if it's stuck on the edge of the screen
and then brightened to semi-visibility. I would make a larger one for
Marneus Calger, but I'm headed out of town for the week.
