Which is the same thing you'd get by having no scale at all.

Hence, it's redundant, meaningless, useless, and misleading all at the
same time. Sounds dumb to me. *shrug*

I have to disagree; some may consider scale 2*y is more readable in the
code than scale <1, 2, 1>. Actually, I think POV-Ray shouldn't even warn
about it.

At risk of starting to sound seriously pedantic...

It didn't SAY 2*y, did it? No, it said 0.

Go on, tell me what "scale 0" is good for. ;p

Heh, I know it shouldn't be there - it's the default that comes
with PoseRay which is 1, but I changed it to zero for some reason,
can't think of what reason though... ;)

Is this an old argument?

One time I had tried to do a scale by 0 to 'flatten' something. Can't
remember what I was doing at the time though or what I did instead (probably
.0000001 or something)

I can't imagine a person typing that for any reason -- I didn't realize
/that/ was the code :-) Well, a person might type that to try an make
something infinitely small, but of course, that is not possible in POV-Ray.
