As per some suggestions I made the sky less purple and added a planet 
crescent. A chrome sphere (still looking for a checkered plane) also 
wandered in.

I think I'll leave this one for now and perhaps try a landscape with a 
different feel.

Nice!  Texture has a very Terragen look.

How did you do the foam along the shore?

aww, poor sphere  :(

Seriously, that is an amazing picture.  Every time I
try to do something like that with isosurfaces, I
either give up because of the insanely long render
times, or I produce a lame picture.  :(
