when your mother is an artist from water colour thougth to oils
and your critisms are accepted, one just wishes you could leap from 
newbie to guru by following example in text rather than a brush.

Excellent picture. This is the type of thing about which I am always
raging. You have taken what would have been an attractive, one-technique
picture and improved it dramatically by adding the detail of logically
(by direction) smashed grass. The whole thing is still somewhat
abstract, but it's honest abstract.
