Thanks for this. Once I'm happy with the scene I may do this. The
original of this image I rendered at 2400x3200 and looks quite good at
that size. There are some issues with the pipes that I want to sort out
- a couple of places there are loose pieces; see the detail picture I'm
attaching.

Thanks. The view is probably much as this one is, though ...

Nice, I like it.
Perhaps you could try a change int the lighting? I think a dusky sky
might work well - maybe 30 minutes after sunset or something like that -
with orange glows coming from the windows. It would make them look a
little more "homely".
And perhaps a few wispy clouds below the globes would add some interest
to the background and give a really strong sense of height.

Well, I'm imagining a true 'skyhook' with nothing except possibly a
counterweight at the other end, away out beyond the geostationary point.

Yes, I've thought about putting some clouds in and the birds are a good
idea.

Definitely a thought. Although this would mean I'd have to learn how to
use the copy of Poser3 I've got sitting on my hard drive ...

Hi
!) Great idea - nicely done
2) Lighting - somehow ity looks dusty & dull - are you using fog? if so dump
it and try media! long render times but brighter and cleaner.
3) add a figure
4) add some birds
5) None of the above - just ignore my ramblings.
All the best
Mick

What about an infinite lake of boiling magma beneath the spheres (Of
course, the spheres contain senior officers from a certain behemoth
software company, which shall go un-named).
Actually, I like the image already. I'm not sure it has to have
anything else.
