These glass objects that occupy 100 square pixels are taking several
minutes per pixel...should I kill my now 2+ day render, put those
glass objects into no_image, and make duplicates that are quicker
to render that have pass_through and no_shadow and all that?

Depends if pixels its done already look good, I would be tempted to let it
