I've never been gone!

No, I don't live in the black forest. That white
spot is just a coincidence happening with specular.
And about that scattering atmosphere: I wanted
these to be marbles, so I don't think they've got their
own atmosphere (at least not so dense that we can
see it).

Not far :)

I noticed they were marbles but I thought a marble with atmosphere could
give a strange feeling

Proof if proof were ever required that even an old idea can be remade in new
ways...

Rather Nice!
Andrew.

PS. Reborn? Come-back? Have I missed something??

Heh, yes of course. Just playing the part of an inexperienced
pover welcoming a 'more' experienced pover back as a 'newbie' after
many hassles.

And you weighed in at...? ;)

Yup, you missed the complete System Failure and total
Data loss of my former POV-Work. Whats left are those
bits of code floating on the web, and two or three scenes
I had zipped on my second HD. Look in povray.general,
my most recent thread "Homepage update..." is a small
hommage to my older work. "Somebody kills me please..."
(with a little typo, due to a complete nervous breakdown :-)
states the obvious.

Basically, I'm starting from scratch, thus the v2.0 in my sig
and the "reborn" in my initial post.

Here's the link (I think it works)

http://news.povray.org/povray.general/30678/

BTW, Sorry to hear about that. It makes me think that it's time for me to
do a backup as well.

And it really makes me sad about the WorldBowl...

Yeah, I'm kinda sad too. Had a lot of time
invested into that this year. And my particle-system
was closing in on completion (this time it really
was!)...

Ah well. Got to do new stuff now. :-)

To put this in a positive light... Whenever things like that have happened
to me, I've been overcome with an immense feeling of freedom, though
balanced with the negative feelings.

Iin other words, now you're free to create anything you want!

Or not! ;-)

Mmm... well now I understand. Of course, if I lost everything, I wouldn't
have lost much. (All my scenes are pretty rubbish.) Does make me feel kinda
twitchy when I think about the place where I work. I'm the IT sysadmin, and
our backup procedures aren't quite implemented yet......... [shivers]

By the way, I love that "this time it really was" comment - made me *smile*
;-)

Andrew.
