My news reader is setup to delete all posts older than 80 days. This group
was starting to look a bit bare on my screen, so I thought I'd drop
something onto it ;-)

It's nothing special - just a cable knot. Specifically, a (19, 2)-torus knot
with the Trefoil knot (i.e., a (3, 2)-torus knot) as the companion knot.

Still a little shaky with the math, but hey, I don't suppose anyone *else*
here knows what on earth I'm twittering on about anyway... (If I'm wrong I'm
sure I'll rapidly find out about it!)

Enjoy. (Or not.)
Andrew.

PS. ~3 mins @ 1.4GHz, POV-Ray 3.5 WinXP.
PPS. How many *hours* would this take as a sphere_sweep object? Will perhaps
try it if I can work out how... (The code doesn't lend itself to this very
much!)

Nice.

Try playing with my post in p.t.s-f _Try this blob_ on 25/08/02.
You can get quite complicated results by adding more sections, even if
you don't know what you're doing ;)

Kill my blob, threshold and strength, use a smaller sphere radius and
count, and then _nudge_ the sphere before the first translate.

I guess you used a spline for the pigment?

Alf

Will have a go sometime...

Actually... <sin(radians(t)), sin(radians(t+120)), sin(radians(t+240))>,
where t = 0 to 360. A bit of a cheat, but it works 8-D

Andrew.

Would only take a few seconds with my sphere_sweep rip-off macro. See
attached picture.

I enjoyed. If you like playing with knots, have a try with this from
Lutz-Peter Hooge, see what you can do;

I think you'll like it - I had a great time with it.

Well, I'll try to help you a bit, I'm going to post a little something
too.....

Your "It's nothing special" makes me remember one of my first render with
POV back in 1993. I will post it in a new thread.

As usual, it's always enjoyable being in this newsgroup, cool gang here!!
