A true THOMAS -Network - Card !

Maybe it will not often make connections to other network-cards cause it
can't believe their data :-).

However, this is the most realistic looking POV-Rendering (together with
Jaimes Apples)
I've ever seen.
Maybe there is something artificial even missing .... to contrast a normal
photography.

Will have to try that next time round

I think the reason it looks so real is the simple subject matter (as you see
from the model, there isnt really much to it) and the texture, lighting &
focal blur which in this instance make the scene work.

After doing this the first time round I pretty much decided that where ever
possable (for 'real world' objects) I would use 'real world' texture maps
and a flat bed scanner seems the best tool for getting them where ever
possable.

Oh, and focal blur hides a multitude of sins, really brings new meaning to
the term 'if you wont see it, dont model it!' well worth the increased
render time.

On a final note, I wouldn't have fancied doing this without Moray, without
which positioning all those little blocks for the mounted components would
have taken significantly longer.

Odd... I wouldn't have fancied doing it _with_ Moray, with which
positioning all those little block for the mounted components would have
taken _me_ significantly longer.

Place the texture as a viewpoint bg image, and copy paste little blocks into
place, it took 2 mins to position all the surface mounted components
perfectly.

AH! Well, I don't use Moray, so wouldn't have thought have doing that
and would've spent days trying to get everything into the right place...
Though I'd have done something similar if I'd have done it by hand -
load the image into an image editor and jot down the position and size, in
pixels, of each component and then would probably have created the card
object in POV so that one pov-unit was equal to on pixel on the image...

Very nice indeed, I remember when I saw you first image months ago a I
wanted to do one similar of the card I have been developing at work, but I
never came round doing it. Good stuff!
