making for my saiiling boat is awful :)
can anyone give me a little hint on how to make a good looking polyester?

oh, and I know the water looks horrible, I didn't spend a lot on time on
it... that's not in the planning for a long time...

for those that read my post from a few days back, this is what the bulged
surface was for... I decided against creating one to save me all the fuss
that would come with it, especially since I already had the flat one and
this is really just a little project to get back into povray

Comments on the hull... Hmmm.
Perhaps, you should try and model a little
more with torii and differences/intersections
to get some of them edges smoother. What
helps is to draw a visualization of the different
parts before end, and use some declared variables
as measurements to easily modify the shape.

As for the surface, you might try less reflection,
a a roughness value of say .02 or such with some
specular like .7 (the rougher the surface, the less
specular is what I use mostly). If you still need reflection,
you might want to try blurred-reflections. The technique
is described on my homepage in the "Hints"-Section
(on which I'd like to get some comments if its written
well and such, if you actually read it).

Regards,
Tim
