I thought that I should try my hand at a sail. This is my first attempt at
both layered textures and hand made bicubic patches. What do you think? i
would like some criticism and advice on the texture.

OK, Here is version B, showing the reinforcement patches sewn into the sail.

Reef Points! No...This sail did not have reef points, but others on the
model will have them. Does anybody know how tro calculate points on the
surface of a bicubic patch?
