I see. My mistake is probably that I just create some landscape and put
the camera somewhere, where it looks good, but I don't care about scale.
Then when I try to put something there, the scale suddenly matters a lot,
and it just doesn't work.
I should start from scratch and design everything to scale from the very
start... Mountains should be several kilometers high, not just some tens
of meters, etc.

Wow... looks like a lake in the remote mountains of Badakhshan, NE
Afghanistan... I can't figure out which scale you chose,
but I just wonder whether there is no koochi summer camp on the left slope, with
black camel's hair tents and sheep grazing
on the sparse dry vegetation...
