The edges are a bit softer on most modern calculators, but otherwise you got
it right.. With bump-mapping textures you could fake the softness of the
buttons and most edges..  :o)

Waitasec...I have one of those.  Or used to...
the buttons weren't that flat though, and even
when it was off, if you held it at an angle in
the light, you could faintly see the digits.

I'd really like to see this finished! I think the buttons, while rounded,
could deffinetly be a little softer. The bump map on the calc itself doesn't
look quite right either.

Oh I think if you look back a few months or so there were a lot of posts
about LCD screens. maybe you could find something useful there.
