  Yes, I agree on this. And, indeed, it can be achieved with POV to some 
extent, playing with assumed_gamma and light intensities. Anyhow, it's a 
matter of taste, and I'm starting to like the slighty dull contrast 
obtained when using assumed_gamma 1.0.
