Make the key "BrandBitmap" instead of "BrandBitmap".

Save your bmp as a 256-color image in C:\logo.sys. If it doesn't exist (as
you seem to be saying), save it as logo.sys anyway. Win98 has it hidden in
some DLL, but it's really much easier to have it take whatever's in logo.sys
than change what it has.

That doesn't work. I tried that on a whim, but nothing happened.

Cheers!

It worked on my Win98 (first release) when I messed with it at the time...

(and later removed the splashscreen altogether simply by putting a 0-byte
file called logo.sys in C:\ )

just make sure that you save the logo.sys to the root of your C:\ , and
not in the windows folder like the other splash screens...

How did you "concatenated" the bitmaps? I suppose there must be an easy way
to do this...

Thanks,

Fernando.

You also can turn off the spash screen by editing msdos.sys, setting logo=0

My mistake- root directory! I put it there and it works. Thanks for
the help and patience, everyone.

For this one, I just used good old Paint (Alt>E>F, double-click image, move,
Alt>E>F, double-click image, move...) but soon afterwards I wrote a little
program that'll put the images together for u.
