The few differently colored leaves look still a bit strange, but apart
from that it looks good.  Maybe try some more leaves halfway between the
standard and the dried ones.

I think the fern is looking quite nice.
it looks better with this lighting, BUT with lighting like this it would 
look more like a showpiece in a museum than a real potted plant sitting 
in a home.

Yes, of course. The lighting is very important and these posts are only
tests and concentrate on the model rather than on a nice scenery.
The final scene will cast some shadows in it, some parts will be lit
extremely by runrays..... we'll see.
