The texture is due to the way pov interprets small rows of cylinders
spheres in that close to each other... increasing the number of
cylinders in the shape will smooth away the texture... This is what
happens to my while loops... Unfortunately when you up the number of
cylinders / spheres it gets really slow... focal blur might hide the
pattern...

To be more visually descriptive.. it is like looking at one of the cheap
cracker jack hologram cards... the kind that change picture when you
move them... its a simple concept to grasp but kind of hard to
describe... did you ever make one of theses holograms in school... you
draw two similar images... like stick man with his hand in two
positions... cut both pictures into vertical strips... or horizontal
depending on how the piece will be viewed... tape the two pictures
together alternating the strips, 1st strip 1st pict, 2nd strip 2nd pict,
3rd strip 1st pict, so on till finished with last strip of 2nd
picture... fold the taped picture on the taped lines where you cut the
pictures in alternating inside outside folds... when you move the
folded, taped picture right and left stick man will wave as the 1st
picture and 2nd picture come in and out of line of site...

Whew... this is kind of where the texture comes from... I am sure that
made no sense... =]
Maybe ill post a visual example... ??
