Yes. The light source with photons is inside the crystal. (And it's a table,
not the floor)

Now that I look again I see the table, I also see now that everything is a lot
smaller than I thought. Maybe if you showed the floor, it would be more
noticeable.

I wonder how it would look like with some atmospheric media, could be
incredibly slow, but it might be interesting.

I would use focal blur to make it clear that it's a table. At the moment
it's not so easy to get the scale.
