Radiosity artifacts, probably caused by the hole of the "body".

Ehm...perhaps it's me but I don't see the point...

You are. These are two souvenirs taken by a friend of mine, a certain
Gulliver, during his travels... ;)

"Cover"?

No strange normals used. The texture is the same for every part of the

Believe me. I've seen those spots before. They happen when you mix "objects
on a plane lit with a dome" radiosity and reflective objects. Increase
max_trace_level enough and they'll go away.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to those little dots at the end of the
flute...
I'll give it a try. :)

What's a "recorder" anyway? Some other kind of flute? If it is, what's the
difference?

That's where the camera aligns with the lathe, only fix I know of is to
offset them enough to where the camera isn't on a plane intersecting the
extra-radial realm of the lathe.

I really know nothing about musical instruments so don't take my word for
gospel;-) A recorder is a completely different woodwind instrument, at least
from the modern flute. Most modern flutes are metal.
