It's pretty much a box with a bumpy texture on top and photons.

Animation Master and exported to POV.

Trout & Salmon  have scales that really don't show up like other fish ...
it's much more like skin and very smooth, esp on a small fish and they
certainly aren't visible like on other species and very difficult to see
when in the water.
This render looks very realistic to me . . . outstanding.

Oh urg, and here I was about to go aghast at my
switching over to AM for my animation with your trout
here and I see you used AM as well... hehe...  Well,
back to BPMF for me...
