Ok, I didn't want to call it it "IRTC entry" :)
Here's my WIP, hopefully someone will be impressed,
but hopefully I can get some good critique, as well :)

Looks like the Star Wars bandwagon. Where are all of the fans? Maybe
it's too dark to see them.
Ahhh! They are all on the dark side! ;)

Here's a lighter version... I upped the brightness of
both swords plus lightning. For speed, I only enabled
the figures, swords, lightning, walkway and walls (I
wanted to see the shadows) and used low quality
radiosity (turning rad off completely changes the
lighting, so it would even approximate the final
image). Oh yeah, no AA in this one :)
That said, I'd like to hear if anyone has comments on
theme / camera / objects etc.

Looks interesting, but I can't help wondering why the combatants seem to
be robots. :)

Much better (the lighter version). This image could be probably
developed without radiosity.

Looks better - as ken suggest - loose the radioasity - I think it would look
much better with a 'harsher' lighting

It looks good because there's so much going on, just don't get
too carried away. Knowing when to stop can be the hardest part.

Well, I've been thinking of replacing the glowing swords with normal ones.
Maybe that would make it more original :)
