I started work on an IRTC model today. As you can see I'm no heightfield
expert, nor landscape texture expert but I hope to get some serious time
into improving these areas.
The castle is a Rhino model based loosely on the German Neuschwanstein
Castle (not that I'd ever heard of it before this morning I just came across
it in a search and it looks pretty nice). I'm planning on expanding on the
castle with an entrance and a couple more towers, but my main concern is its
surroundings for the moment.
I put the light in the topmost room of the castle in the last minute and
(even though its pure yellow) it came out orange - I spose I'll just reduce
the red in the next render. Any comments, suggestions for improvements?
Did I see a post in here a couple of months back of some good lava, as I had
a play and failed miserably (as you can sort of see), as I'd love to get
some ideas/tips of the person, thanks

that is a very nice looking castle. The light you
added at the last minute was the detail that I that
caught my eye most favorably (it adds life to the
castle). Nice rooftops and stonework.
Why lava around it? Is there a story to it?

Why bother? I'm not interesting.
But... maybe "Ballet pour ma fille" will be.

I have never actually been there, but i'm quite sure the surrounding looks
different although that's probably intended.

I think Rune made something with lava some time ago.

No I just didn't know what to put there. The whole layout is based around a
scene in Shrek (well to the point there's a bridge, a castle and surrounding
lava!)

:) The castle is modelled around the real castle but everything else is just
sorta made up

Dunno if it's me you're thinking of, but I made an image called "Burn in
Hell" a little while back which had some lava in it. To get ideas you can
download the source code from my website (see my sig).
