www.scifi.com ?
Anyway, this is not an unusual shape, but it does look pretty good.
Go for it, I would say!

I'd go for it.. But the SciFi channel uses their planet log in practically
everything. :{)

I thought of the scifi channel logo immediately but after a close look yours
is much different in character. At once more cartoonish and friendly, less
intimidating and mysterious. Keep it, go with it, it looks great.
Actually, I didn't think of the scifi logo until you asked for similar
looking logos, so I can't even say yours reminded me of it.

That's what I hoped! :)

Thank you!
Not having English as my native tongue I'm not sure exactly what "retro"
means (though I do have a vague idea). Anybody care to explain?

I like the current font myself but I'm open to suggestions. I don't know
what font you have in mind though. If you have anything specific in mind you
could give me a font name and maybe throw together an image showing it
together with the logo... :)

It does have a little of the same feel, but I don't think they're that
similar. :)

Thank you! I'm glad it gives the intended impression. :)

It generally means design based around 1950's US design. Powerpuff Girls
springs to mind.

Aargh. I looked through my fonts, but couldn't see one that matches my
rather indistinct idea (mainly through the lack of a decent font viewer). I
had an idea of something that looked like those neon (joined-up) signs.
