Hi!
Don't know what exactly you mean by weird. It looks like a sphere which is
distorted by the perspective. That's because your "look_at" is not pointing
at the sphere and the default camera angle is quite high. In addition to
that there is nothing above the sphere which good be reflected, so the upper
part remains totally black.
I never used photons so far so I can't help you with this, but I could guess
that the effect might be more visible if you lower the intensity of your
lights. Might well be wrong :-)
