4 hours 4 minutes to render.
That is, after I found and removed the light_sources in each rocket
ship.

Very good. I tried rendering this file and it was taking forever to test
things out. I applaud your patience. I find it's interesting that all the
ships are fleeing to jsut this one side .. ; )

Actually, it just LOOKS that way, because it's easier to see the "sunny side" of
the ships. There are darkened ships on the left side, look for their windows in
the starfield.

Are there as many on the left as the right? I don't see many.

Technically, there is a perfectly square grid of them, with the Z distance
randomized.
Now some of them may be behind the camera or offscreen to the left... Let me
move the "sun" and show you... Check back in 4+ hours...

A collapsing Dyson-sphere or criswell? Or just one still being built,
and that is just a fleet of trading ships? They don't seem to be in a
hurry, and they are all going in one direction rather than scattering
chaotically. However, your title implies that they would rather be
somewhere else...

I guess more of the ships on the left went forward... they really are random! :)

Well, I guess you're right about random exit paths... And the thing in
the middle is supposed to be some kind of ancient alien technology they
were attempting to harvest technology from - until the power came on :)

It's not big enough to be a dyson sphere, I originally had something more
"Borg" in mind.

Well, if I understand correctly, it's not actually random, just an
equation(or something like that) appears that way. But yes. It looks
better off-center I think. Also maybe add more detail to your ships, they
look cartoonish. What are the stars? They look too big I think.
