I keep seeing references to other groups, all abbreviated. Could someone
point me towards some of the other groups?

Thanks

If you are using Outlook Express you can click on the news.povray.org server
and ask to see a complete list (click on the "Newsgroups" button). Sorry I
don't know how to do this in Netscape or others.

The most important group for you to subscribe to would be -

povray.announce.frequently-asked-questions

This group has several messages detailing posting guidelines, how
to post bug reports, and a welcome message (by yours truly) that
tells you what groups are available and how they are to be used.
You should take a few minutes to read all of the messages in that
group. They will help you get oriented with our server and what
to expect as a vistor here.

Have fun !

Have you tried this page:

http://www.povray.org/groups.html

It's a list of all the groups with small descriptions. Clicking on the
groups should open them in your newsreader.
