Hi All
I'm posting this long before it's finished as I shall be shutting down for a
few days. I'll probably log on for mail but not to work.
The picture owes much to the work of Tor Olaf Kristenson and young Samual's
tutorial on isurfaces. The pillars are extension of Tor's work whilst the
roof is isosurface CSG based on the wrinkles pattern. The mist is scattering
media. There's a lot I want to add: capitals and bases for the pillars,
embedded faces/figures/animals in the isosurfaces of the roof and an
isosurface floor and walls, I have a rather grusome idea for the lamps and
of course a stained glass window with the light streaming through it.
However the way things are going the final pic could take some months!
BTW there is a line on the front right hand pillar that seems to line up
with the media container, is this the same problem you were once having with
a HF Chris? Is there a solution?
Comments, as ever are always welcome.
Mick

This looks very much like the famous poly and quartic bug now manifesting
itself in another object type. Probably some form of math precision
problem.

If you mean rendering time you are probably right. Some nice walls and floor,
radiosity, reflection - at least a week should be minimum ...

It looks good, but really needs some kind of capitals for the columns.
And make it all one isosurface :-)

Mick this is excelent, by far the most interesting iso image I've
seen.
If this is just an early image, I can't wait to see the finished
article.

Shows promise!
I liked the top half better, but it's a WIP... once you get the column details
in there'll be more of a buffer between the ornate ceiling and goopish pillars
and fog I think, that'll definitely help.

I love the patterns in the roof !
Can I please see how you did that ?
I think that the transitions from the iso-columns
to the smooth bows are a bit odd. (Maybe you could
put something in-between?)
And how about a different pattern for each column ?
Regards,
Tor Olav
