Hello everybody,

This is my first post in this group (also my first original image using
POV). I am looking for suggestions on how to improve this chair. It is
(loosely) based on a foldable chair I have at home. The code is not
very clean yet, but the pigment for the tubular parts can be specified
separately from the pigment for the seat and the back, as you can see in
the image.

Things I know need more work:
a) It is missing the plastic conical covers on the ends of the legs to
keep it from scratching the nice checkered floor I plan to put
underneath later.
b) The "soldered" angle joints look much too sharp for my taste. I'd
like to get a more rounded look, like that of a shaped tube, instead of
two tubes cut at an angle and welded together to form an angle. This
part of the chair frame uses a blob.
c) I use a superellipsoid for the cushion of the seat and another one
for the back. I'd like to know how to make a more concave back. I
think this chair would be rather uncomfortable with such a straight back.
d) Any other suggestions are most welcome.

Thanx

Victor

I am missing seeing the folding hinge where the legs meet and cross.
Its absense gives the chair a whole different feel from being an actual
folding chair.
