Fisher Aerospace Fighter. A mixed mode craft, capable of both space
operations and atmospheric operation.

Still lacking attitude thrusters and unit insignia. I have the
thrusters modelled, but was too lazy to attach them. :) I have a unit
insignia, but I have no idea where to put it on the ship. The insignia
is done up as a mesh, and all exists within one plane. I could put it
on the top of the nose, perhaps, or on the underside of the wing, but
owing to the way the top of the wing buckles, I can't put it there
without it looking REALLY stupid. And that's where I'd really like it.

I decided I didn't like my previous Fisher model. Far too many
problems. So I threw it out and started over. Same general fuselage
arrangement, though I moved the fuel tanks to under the wings. The
wings themselves are radically different, and I think better looking.

Comments? Criticism? Tomatoes?

Render your insignia mesh and use the output as an image_map on the wing.
You should be able to get away the slight distortion the wing airfoil causes
on the texture.

The wing, fuselage and tailfin are all one big mesh.

You should be able to do a planar projection of the insignia onto the wing
regardless of which parts the mesh extends to, no?

...Maybe. It's not a technique I've really heard of. I'm still a
newbie. I'll check the manual on that.
