Isn't this your fourth "first" scene now..? Anyway - keep up the good work,
you're doing a lot better than I did when I started out. I especially like
that Nintendo image.

nice one ... but looks like you got a lot of light sources?
a few less might give you a more 'defined' picture

Hey *I* did the Nintendo! :)

I really like the blue pen. The rest of the pens and pencils look kind of
chubby. The blue pen though looks really accurate. Could you make the ink in
it darker though?

obviously you use only pure pigments for textures (apart
from the wood) that saved you quite some time.
You may want to add some reflections on the cup.
Adding radiosity is another way to increase your rendering
times, if you want to.
I had some trouble to recognize the caps of the pens.
They do not seem to fit on the pens.
The platic in the pens is too transparent and you forgot
the small hole in the side ;)
The pencils are, I think, too thick compared to the pens.

Apart from that, you are making remarkable progress.
If you continue we will all be complaining in a couple
of weeks that you should not publish photograhs.

ya the color is a midnight blue
ill darken it up

lets see dont tell anyone this but the red and blue pens are the same
except obvously the color/colour (whatever)

and the pencils are renderd in the same way
they look chubby because of the angle

Looks like you've used ambient in the textures on almost everything, try
removing it, and as someone else mentionted you've got quite a few light
sources, try taking a few of the lights away and moving the other lights
around.

The pens and pencils seem to have a scale problem, make the thinner and
maybe a bit longer.

Nice placement of objects.

Very good, I first modeled an altar, after an IRTC image I saw.

Suggestions:
-Change the colors form solid to (mabye) slightly of red*1 or blue*1.
    -Add highlights to your objects.
-Try radiosity with fewer lights (say 1 area).
-Normals, finish, ect (variance on texture)
-Slight scattering media on the clear pens
-Recheck your scaling on the pens, remember Y is up
-Details on books, pens ect (text)
Great job for a first image.
