high-res earth maps + iso-surfaces = fun

On that note, does anyone know where I can find a better cloud map?  I
already distorted this one in photoshop to make it slightly higher res,
but it still doesn't quite cut it next to the nice sharp earth.  

(Okay, okay, I confess, I just added the stars in photoshop)

I like this.  Looks as though Atlas had it in a clinched fist.  Makes me
think about gravity and how the water and clouds would have to be tightly
bound to the planet.  The solid material would need to be extremely rigid to
defy that gravity.

Can you tell me where you got the high res earth maps?  I believe you
also have an high res earth heightfield map?

No, if ray-traced it would need lava oozing from cracks formed by the unseen
hand which is squeezing on it.
Atlas just happens to have miraculous powers to prevent that.
