Here's a thought! That light patern on the floor is *Very* nice. But is it
possible to work backwards?...

instead of defining your objects and fining out what light pattern it makes...
define your light patern and find out what object it needs??

It looks really interesting, but the geometry seems a bit obscure. As
Peter said, jitter might be a good idea, what max_trace_level did you use
BTW?

Looking for that special positron? (Okay I'll shut up)

Oh yeah... I may not do much with this render, but it could come in
useful later.

I think that would be fairly difficult. Anyway, half the fun is seeing
what pattern it'll make. :)

Thanks. It wasn't supposed to show off the torus object really, just
the caustics. Max trace was 50 I believe.

but half the fun could be seeing what object it makes.

LOL, i suppose, but actually there would be infinite objects, wouldn't
there? So long as the photons end up where they need to be. Then we
could make a four-dimensional object and take slices of it...

What interests me is how those caustics mimic diffraction patterns.

Too few photons.
