This is an egypt scene I made on sunday...statues are viewpoint objects
I smoothed for a better lighting.
A little of radiosity and a bright light source.
The original version is a 1600*1200 picture I did for my windows
wallpaper. It took 1h10 to render on my poor K6-2 400MHz 128Mo...
The POV scene is about 29Mo.

Very nice. How were the stones done? I see a few repeats from the left
wall to the left tower,, so I'm assuming an image map. Did you create the
statues, or get them from somewhere else?

very nice - ksut shows you dont need to muck about with massive amounts of
rad lighting (etc) to get a good image.

Now there's your atypical POV render. :) Very nice. I would like to know
where you got that brick texture. Thanks in advance.

the brick is from a free map pack for half-life (not sure, maybe quake3)
taken on:

Looks good!
Fairly nice use of image maps, the most common problem about those is
their internal lighting interfering with the scene's light sources. Here
this seems to work quite well. Do you also use a bump map or is it only
the image map?
How about an area light for the sun?

all is in the image map. For this render, I used the MAX plug-in we are
developping with Paul Blaszczyk. The bump is not implemented yet.

for the same reason as above...the area lights are not yet
implemented...I can do a test by editing the scene by hand...will do it
when my new computer will be in one piece !!
