Ok, I've just started an hour ago a little remake game.
First, let me tell you about the game; It should consist of a remake of the old
black&white game named Gobbler (at least on the Mac), you might also know it as
SnakeBites, or something like that... It's a game in which you have a Snake,
that must eat foods to get more food and finish the level this way. When it
eats food it grows longer and goes faster and you have to avoid getting into
obstacles such as the Board border, rocks, your own tail, etc... And the
controls are only Left and Right, you always move forward (unless you eat a
funky mushroom that makes you go backward, etc...)

For this I'm using OpenGL and this should be 3D accelerated and will have a lot
of textures (all made with POV-Ray I hope), and will be a test for myself to add
sound into such a Game.

Currently, the textures were made with TheGIMP (a Photoshop clone), but I hope
to make them all with POV-Ray as soon as possible...

Here is the look of the Game Board, (btw, it should be grass or dirt...)

The reason why I've posted this here is that I hope to get as much feedback on
how it looks, how to make it better, etc...

I'm not as good with POV-Ray than with OpenGL and if you feel you would like to
provide me with your own POVmade textures, feel free to do so!

Ah, also! Currently I'm developping this game under Linux with a GeForce2, but
I will definately try to port it to Windows and Mac, and will probably also try
to make it work as fast as possible on any non-accelerated PC...

Ok, now I got a proper board with obstacles, and a snake with head, body and
tail that can move with a given speed and has a given length... Anyway the game
is working!

I still have to work on collisions though, and I will then add some food and
fun!

Next will be to arrange the textures so they are POV-made and actually much
nicer than the current ones!! ;)
