I couldn't find any specific very sharp edge, they of course all have the
same sharpness (apart from the granite pigment function) :-)

Could you point me to some specific brick?

Thanks, i had a similar thought these days, but my ability to model a
seagull is quite limited.  Maybe some silhouettes around the distant rock
would be a good idea though.

It's just IMHO it looks a bit unnatural to me. Still, it's great stuff.

That would probably look interesting but could be quite a lot slower,
especially since it would probably require a higher radiosity
recursion_limit.
