I got bored.

With the exception of one weak point light used to produce caustics,
this scene is all radiosity; the shadows look much better with higher
quality settings, but I don't have enough RAM to finish the render that
way. I don't know what's causing the light gray "clouds" in the whites
of the eyes, but neither am I terribly concerned about them.

Brrr... :-) - how about an animation of these jumping/rolling around...

Some higher quality radiosity would probably look really good, how much
memory does it take?

Not at this quality. With conventional lighting (and probably no AA),
maybe.. this was a ten-hour render, even with relatively little disk thrashing.

More than I have. Send me a G4 with a fat supply of RAM and I'll tell
you what I used. ;)

POV gets about 30 MB out of the 40 on my system; I think I used
error_bound .3 and count 30. I've spot-tested at .05 and 100, which
comes out a lot better (you can see the shadows from the lashes) but I
guess you'd need at least 256 MB to finish a render at 640 x 480 with
those settings.
