I'm not sure about that, gray_threshold is 0.0 an the sky is quite blue as
you can see from the water.  Of course i could make the sun more yellow. 
OTOH especially in maritime environment, it can be quite hazy which would
weaken the colors.

when making this recursive macro I also had the impression that ir
reminded me of something I had seen before, but I did not consciously
think of Escher.  Anyway there seem to be indeed some similarities.

Come to think of it, maybe the fractal structure *does* take enough
color from the surroundings, it's all the blue around it that tricks
te eye.
