I hardly toutch them, all rgb 1, except one lightsource and the 
transparent object.

how about a smooth transit from the 'distorted' center to the clear outer
parts, some spherical normal would work IMO.

've been playing with the distortion part a lot, scaling it and moving 
around. Also using a boxed pigment and normal to fade away the edges. Then 
decided for the sharp transit.
My initial idea was that it would be nice if you could define a region, by 
means of an object or pattern, and apply a blurr to it as if it where a 
focal blurr. Depending of the "aperture" setting the egde between blurred 
/ not blurred is more or less sharp.
Since there is no such feature, I started experimenting. Then noticed the 
effect a rgbft 1 pigment has (if its a bug please make it a feature) and 
went on from there.
