Now I also have done a planet ...
I did the mars....
It was just a 10mins-trial in Moray ...
But I wanted to try the 90MB Mars-surface I got ...
What a pitty, that you can't see it :-)

Don't use the HiRes picture of mars for this particular renderings it
takes up way to much memory for a picture which can be rendered using a
LoRes imagemap of Mars. I'd only use the HiRes version when doing an
animation in which your closing in on Mars it's surface or when
rendering a close up of a particular place on Mars.

Nice, the subtle colors really make this image work. Larger render, larger
