That penguin looks very much like the lonely little cartoon one of yesteryear
to me, that's on the cutesy side to me.
POV-Ray animal mascot huh...?
Maybe a platypus. Yeah, that's it. Definitely a platypus.

Btw, I'm sure that's been suggested before. Maybe back when the custom-compile

You thinking of Hoboken Penguin from the Bugs Bunny shorts? That's where I drew
inspiration for this one - minus the top hat.

You want POV represented by a species in which the males are equipped
with poisonous spines? I think there's some deep rooted fear of POV
going on here :)

My penguin is NOT tux. If I wanted him to be I would have modeled him that way.
But again I was just joking about the mascot thing...
