Yes, it's a blob, but made of cylindrical components.

Ok, I'll put this machine to render overnight (although it might take
days to render since the version I posted took about 4 hours).

Wow. Simple and beautiful. The bright areas look odd though. I don't
know if it's highlilght or from photons on the floor.
