Ah, nice to see you back to work, instead of making logos. ;)

Great work on the clouds, Chris. Are they 3D objects or flat? Are they
media? Could you give a general explanation of how you're doing this, and
the current capabilities and limitations? Thanks.

These are excellent, some of the best I've seen. I for one look forward to
the final product. BTW which version of Pov are you using is it pre or post
Nathan's changes to noise?

`cumulus humilis' means `humble heap'

How on earth is that possible?! I mean--a render time of a couple of
minutes. And in what version of Povray can you turn off aa for individual
objects?

:O

i think he meant turn on aa for the scene because of other objects in
the scene that would look crappy without aa turned on.

Humilis = humble (in Latin, of course!), referring to the low height of the
clouds compared to the length of their bases. Currently the macro lets you
specify both this height and the flatness of the base compared to the top of
the cloud, so all sorts of shapes and sizes are possible.

:-)
Wonderful image.
Will you allow for clouds that are very dark and brooding, yet highly
detailed?

thanks,
ian

They look very good, but i expect they are not 3D and not casting shadows on the
ground. (Although i hope i'm wrong :-)

Nice thing to add would be controlling the cloud's size/density or other
properties by a pattern (gradient/marble)
