I told you so. It's still a bit far from being a photo. Still, it looks
nicer than my usual renders. It also features a (for the very first time
ever) posed Nick. It wasn't easy, and I had to reconfigure the little guy a
bit. I also got acquainted with vlength(), which I don't often use.
This little 300x500 render you see before you took 27 hours, 41 minutes and
38 seconds to render. Let me be exact. I let it render at top priority for 8
hours 45 minutes, and then I started doing stuff on the computer. Then I
left it alone again until it was done. I don't think this really takes 27.75
hours. Perhaps it's more like 1 day, or less. I think it can be justified by
my radiosity settings, and the area_lights, and the extreme AA, don't you
think? (The tree doesn't help either.) Oh, well. Enjoy.

It looks good but IMO the rendering time is really too long.
Anyway i would use a rough ground (heightfield/isosurface) and maybe add some
more objects (stones, grass, ...)

It _is_ a heightfield.

Yes, but I don't feel like rerendering this any time soon, though. :)
