Yeah, texturing is not my strong side, so i'm glad about every nice texture
i can lay my hands on.

Thanks, unfortunatly the model is not at all detailed enough. Perhaps
modeling is not my strong side either :-)

Yes the danger of avalanches is probably quite high there.

I don't think it's a question of temperature, maybe wet snow is even better for
sticking to a steep slope. In any case if the snow cover gets thicker it would
fall off in such a case IMO. Otherwise glaciers could also grow on very steep
mountains and AFAIK they can only exist up to a certain hillslope.

Hmmm, Nice image, but the snow close up looks too hard and flat,
you'd expect it to look a bit more flaky or grany. It makes
me feel cold all over.

Ooh, excellent!
How 'bout giving the snow a bit of a normal?

Oh yes, I've forgotten the obvious. I added a granite normal and it looks
more like real snow.

Thanks,

Marc-Hendrik

If it makes you feel cold, I succeeded :-)
I added a granite normal to the snowtexture and it look better now (but the
danger of avalanches has probably been increased, too).
