Bad news 200 clouds a couple of hours to render - not sure why

These seem to have a very good "painted" look...and I don't mean done in
a paint program, I mean a real painting. Maybe watercolors...
Not necessarily a bad effect, just surprising. If you can just get the
rest of a complex scene to look that way...

Mick: Put the blos in individual union{}s and bound them manually. This
will decrease you render time by about 2/3rds. I think. This is the only
way I'm able to medel in blobs without loosing my sanity.

for the base of the cloud, what I had in mind, but didn't get around to doing,
was to use a function like exp(-y^2) or max(0, 1-y) or some such thing to have
the clouds fade out (not a slow fade though, just not a sudden chop) at the
bottom.
