The background looks better now, even though i did not mean to make it darker
but to use a softer pattern/color_map.

The problem with normals is that stronger effects always look somewhat faked, so
you should probaly be careful not making it too strong.

I made a quick try with some isosurface slime, it's not nearly as disgusting as
your one and the textuing is slightly wrong, but it shows the possibilities.

BTW, I used the blob pattern for the basic shape here.

I'm afraid that I disagree with everyone else so far. This is not ugly at all,
the colour and form are quite beautiful (although I have to admit that I might
change my mind if I found this thing stuck to my face).

Nice doughnut. Looks... Gross, really gross. Like the jelly burst out. And
someone put mustard on it. My sister says "It's toe jam!"

I think those colors make it even more evil looking than the first.

Thank you to all that commented on this "Toe Jam" image. =)
I'm sorry for replying so late.

I have now managed to use the granite keyword in the
normal statement. My error. Thank you Christoph and
Anton for convincing me that it was possible.

I have now found that textures is much more fun than
I thought.
