Wow I really like this!! Only comment I can make is that the spheres at the
joins look a little too big to me. This is only a concern if you are striving
for realism. Either way it is a great image:-)

That is already possible with MegaPOV for pigment and isosurface functions.

Realism? This is not a "real" object to begin with, it
is designed by Michael and as such can look any they
want. 

Personally, I think that They are good shapes for lamps,
like the type that you might hang from above or mount to
a wall.
